Chaz Lanier: Breaking News

Lanier accumulated zero points (0-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and one assist in five minutes during Sunday's 125-94 loss to Cleveland in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. The rookie second-round pick played a very minimal role for Detroit this season. Across 34 regular-season appearances, he saw just 7.7 minutes per contest with 2.4 points and 0.7 rebounds. He'll likely see some action during the Summer League.

Lanier posted two points (1-1 FG) over six minutes during Sunday's 133-121 win over the Pacers. Lanier once again played a limited role, having exceeded 16 minutes on only four occasions this season. Given he has seen the floor only 34 times thus far, it's safe to assume that he won't be a key piece for the Pistons heading into the playoffs.

Detroit recalled Lanier from the G League's Motor City Cruise on Saturday. Lanier suited up for Motor City in Friday's 123-116 loss to the Osceola Magic in the Eastern Conference Semifinals of the G League playoffs, finishing with 27 points (8-13 FG, 6-8 3Pt, 3-3 FT), five rebounds and four assists in 38 minutes. With the Cruise's campaign coming to an end with the loss, Lanier will rejoin the Pistons for the remainder of the regular season and playoffs. Though Lanier has been formally recalled, it's unclear if he'll arrive in Philadelphia in time for the Pistons' game Saturday versus the 76ers. Detroit is officially listing him as questionable for the contest.
