Eluemunor exited Wednesday's practice early after taking a hit to the midsection, but he appears to have emerged without a serious injury. The veteran lineman practiced with the first team in his return to the field Friday and is slated to compete for a starting job at right tackle for the upcoming campaign.

The veteran lineman practiced with the first team in his return to the field Friday and is slated to compete for a starting job at right tackle for the upcoming campaign.
Nubin is missing practice due to an ankle injury, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports. Fortunately for the Giants and Nubin, the issue isn't considered to be serious. He probably won't be out long, but until Nubin is back in playing shape, 2022 fourth-rounder Dane Belton figures to see more opportunities to make an impression during team drills.
Olszewski (foot) is participating in training camp practices this week, North Jersey's Chris Pedota reports. Olszewski was injured during OTAs earlier this spring but is ready to roll for the start of camp. After being cut by the Steelers in October of last season, Olszewski landed with the G-Men and appeared in 10 games for New York. He returned 23 punts for 273 yards and one touchdown but played just eight snaps on offense.
Bellinger (undisclosed) has been cleared to practice at the start of Giants training camp this week, Dan Salomone of the team's official website reports. Bellinger missed some work during the spring with an undisclosed injury, but he's ready to roll for the start of training camp. Following the retirement of Darren Waller earlier this summer, Bellinger is penciled in atop the depth chart at tight end for the G-Men. Bellinger has 55 catches for 523 yards and two touchdowns through two NFL seasons and is unlikely to factor into the TE1 fantasy discussion after going scoreless on 25 grabs last year. Rookie Theo Johnson (hip, PUP) will also be in the mix at the position for New York.
Slayton (undisclosed) is practicing at the start of training camp, SI's Patricia Traina reports. It seems the injury Slayton suffered during June minicamp wasn't anything serious. He led the Giants in receiving yards four of his first five seasons, but without ever reaching 800 yards in a campaign. While Slayton still projects as a starter, the Giants hope sixth overall pick Malik Nabers will give them a legitimate No. 1 receiver for the first time since Odell Beckham's prime.
Eluemunor (abdomen) went to the locker room during practice Wednesday, Connor Hughes of SNY.tv reports. Eluemunor took a blow to his midsection midway through practice, and after staying down on one knee for several minutes, he left with trainers to be evaluated in the locker room, per Michael Eisen of the Giants' official site. Eluemunor saw the initial first-team reps at right tackle for the start of training camp Wednesday after Evan Neal (ankle) was placed on the active/PUP list Tuesday. Joshua Ezeudu stepped in for Eluemunor at right tackle after the latter left for the locker room.
Simmons was spotted working with the cornerbacks during Wednesday's practice, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports. According to Raanan, new defensive coordinator Shane Bowen is planning on using Simmons at nickelback, rather than linebacker. The former first-round pick had his most productive season (2022) in a similar role with the Cardinals, when he posted 99 total tackles, including 4.0 sacks, while also defending seven passes, with two interceptions, in 17 games. Regardless of where he plays, Simmons projects to see the field plenty in 2024.
Giants GM Joe Schoen said Wednesday that Johnson (hip) should return to practice soon, SI's Patricia Traina reports. The rookie fourth-round pick is on the physically unable to perform list for the start of training camp, slightly delaying what looks to be a fantastic opportunity. The Giants have one of the weakest TE groups in the league after Darren Waller's retirement this summer, potentially giving Johnson a chance to compete with third-year pro Daniel Bellinger for a starting job. Those two are probably the only TEs on the roster with every-down potential, as Jack Stoll and Chris Manhertz are veteran blocking specialists while Lawrence Cager and Tyree Jackson are more like oversized slot receivers. None of the bunch has ever caught more than 34 passes in a season at the NFL or college levels.
