Kyle Crosby: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

The husband of a woman who hasn’t been seen since New Year’s Eve has been charged with her murder. Cops in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, officially charged Kyle Crosby, 28, with the murder of his wife, Erica Crippen, 26.

Here’s what you need to know:


1. Crosby Tried to Run From Police When They Came to Arrest Him

CBS Philadelphia reports that Crosby is being held at Burlington County Jail with bail of $1 million. He was officially charged on January 13 having been taken into custody on the night of January 12. He was stopped on a traffic stop. After being pulled over, Crosby ran from cops before being arrested.


2. The Couple Have a 3-Month-Old Daughter

Erica Crippen’s body still has not been found. She was last seen on December 31. On January 7 Crosby filled out a missing persons report for her. He told cops that he hadn’t seen Crippen since New Year’s Day. Cops had gone to Crosby’s home on a welfare check after Crippen’s daughter, 7, from a previous relationship, hadn’t shown up for school.

The couple also have a three-month-old daughter together. On January 10, Crosby was charged with endangering a child following an apparent lack of care for his kids since Crippen disappeared. The couple were last seen together on December 30 at PJ Whelihans bar in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.


3. Crosby’s Home Was Full With Broken Glass & Furniture

ABC Philadelphia reports that Crosby was arrested while driving his wife’s red Ford Taurus. The station reports that inside the car, police found several items of evidence indicating that Crippen had been hurt. Crippen’s aunt, Barbara Kellam, told CBS Philadelphia, that after Crippen was first reported missing she went to her niece’s apartment. She found the usually tidy home in a complete mess with broken glass and a broken window inside. Speaking to NBC Philadelphia, another cousin said “The shower curtain is missing, the sheets from the bed are missing.” One of Crippen’s cousins, Carla Kellam, wrote to Crosby on Facebook saying:

You cn run but u cnt hide god sees all things Kyle Crosby we let u into our family ate at our tables… Jus do the right thing man call me from a different number plz dead or alive we need closure DO WHTS RIGHT whtever happen I kno it was a mistake y’all seem so happy & I kno u loved her… Whts done is done but u need to let us kno something my number in ur inbox.


4. Since Her Disappearance, Crosby Has Allegedly Been Hanging Out With Hookers & Doing Drugs

Since Crippen’s disappearance, ABC Philadelphia reports that Crosby had been in Camden, New Jersey, hanging out with hookers and doing drugs. The station also reports that “Erica’s family believes she is a victim of foul play.” Kellam told ABC that Crippen’s disappearance is out-of-character, “It’s definitely not like her. She’s a mother first. She would never leave her kids.”


5. Crosby Works as a Fitness Guru

According to his Facebook page, Crosby is the founder of “Train Insain or Remain Plain,” a fitness company in Sicklerville, New Jersey. He also states that previously worked for Giant Fitness. The couple were married in 2014 and have been together since 2012. NBC Philadelphia reports that the couple got married after Crosby was released from jail, the station says that he has “history of drug and assault charges.”

In 2013, Crosby graduated from a course at the International Sports Sciences Association. He grew up in Erial, New Jersey. NBC Philadelphia reports that Crosby hasn’t shown up for work since Crippen went missing. His last Facebook post was on January 2 when he asked if any of his friends could babysit.
