Anthony Scaramucci, Donald Trump’s communications director for a few short days, has five children with two different wives.
Scaramucci’s youngest son, James, was born on July 24 to his second wife, Deidre, who quietly filed for divorce from him while eight months pregnant, right before he took the job in the White House.
Scaramucci is a multi-millionaire self-made financier from New York, who still lives in the Long Island community where he was raised. On July 31, it was announced that Scaramucci had already resigned as communications director, perhaps at the behest of new Chief of Staff John Kelly.
Here’s what you need to know:
1. Scaramucci Was Not Present For the Delivery of His Newborn Son, James, Reports Page Six
Anthony Scaramucci’s second marriage has ruptured in a way that has become public. Page Six broke the news that Scaramucci’s second wife, Deidre, had filed for divorce July 6 after three years of marriage. At the time, the site reported, Deidre Scaramucci was eight months pregnant with the couple’s son, James.
The site reports that Deidre allegedly tired of her husband’s political ambitions and was not a fan of his boss, Donald Trump. However, The New York Daily News reports that Deidre’s lawyer denies that Anthony’s political ambitions played any role in her decision to divorce him.
Scaramucci has two sons with her, Nicholas, and now James. According to Page Six, Scaramucci’s lawyers were trying to work it out for him to be in the delivery room, but the baby was born early and he was in West Virginia at a Boy Scout speech with Donald Trump instead. Scaramucci allegedly sent his wife a text that read, “Congratulations, I’ll pray for our child.”
Scaramucci has said little about all of this except to implore people to leave “civilians” out of it all.
