Ally R. Bragg, a TikTok user, posted a video to the platform where she claims to be the daughter of Rose Bundy, and notorious serial murderer Ted Bundy’s granddaughter. Bragg is the name she uses on TikTok and Instagram.

Now removed, the video was saved and posted to Twitter and been viewed two million times.

Ted Bundy married Carole Ann Boone while he was in prison in Florida. During at least one prison visit, and possibly more, Bundy and Boone managed to have sex in the visiting room, with guards either ignorant or complicit. Rose Bundy was born on Oct. 24, 1982. She was 6 when her father Ted Bundy was executed in January of 1989. Rose Bundy is 36 now. The age of the girl who published the video on the public video sharing platform is not clear.

What she says is, “Hey, yo. Famous relative check.” Then images of family snapshots appear including the girl with her mother and grandmother.

There were basically two reactions on Twitter: one eye-rolling dubiousness and the other, incredulity that Rose Bundy would spend decades keeping herself anonymous only to have been outed in this fashion. If it’s true.

There are screengrabs of Ally’s comments when questioned on TikTok.

A true crime community on Reddit isn’t so sure.

And a person who said they went to school with Bragg contacted Heavy to say the girl is not related to Bundy.

“Allison Bragg went to my high school while I was in my junior year and she is not related to Ted Bundy. I can’t tell you the name of the school she goes to for obvious reasons but I can confirm she has no relations to Rose Bundy and her post was all for TikTok views.”

Late Sunday afternoon, after seeking comment, Heavy was contacted by a person with screenshots of a conversation with Bragg wherein she admits the video is fake, said she did it for “likes.” In the emailed screenshots, Bragg claimed she was “on a cruise” and had no way to contact Heavy, so she had an emissary do it for her.

A friend or acquaintance of Bragg’s contacted her to tell her Heavy had done on story on her claim.

“Hey you might want to contact Heavy and say it was all fake …or you could ride it out LOL it kind of went viral.”

She responded: “I’m trying to tell them it’s fake but I’m on a cruise right now so I can’t use anything but Insta and Snap. Would you like to tell them for me please?”

Here’s her story: “It’s all fake. It was a joke. I don’t (want) my actual family to be harassed, so please I’m asking you. The whole reason I believe I did it was just to get likes and as a funny joke. I never actually thought I was going to blow up like this. But for my real family sake, delete any post regarding anything about my family or me.”

Heavy does not know or reported on her “real” family. Bragg had a person reach out after the video had gone viral and amassed millions of views.

She wrote that she’d try to contact this reporter “when I get home tomorrow.”

Later, she messaged on Instagram to say she did not see that the video had millions of views and that she planned on making “an apology video.”

She did not post a video, but a statement on Instagram.
