The Reds signed Danner to a minor-league contract Jan. 7. Danner spent the entirety of the 2025 campaign at Triple-A Tacoma in the Mariners organization, collecting a 5.59 ERA and 54:21 K:BB over 56.1 frames. The 27-year-old made one major-league appearance for the Blue Jays in 2023. He'll give the Reds some relief depth at Triple-A Louisville.
The Mariners outrighted Danner to Triple-A Tacoma on Monday. Danner will remain in the Seattle organization after he went unclaimed off waivers upon being designated for assignment Friday. The right-hander made a relief appearance in the big leagues with Toronto in 2023 but spent the entire 2024 season in the minors. He's thus far made two appearances for Tacoma, tossing 2.2 scoreless innings.
The Mariners designated Danner for assignment Friday. The right-hander was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma in early March and has now lost his place on the 40-man roster to make room for Luis F. Castillo, who is making his MLB debut Friday against the Giants. Danner delivered 2.2 scoreless frames in two outings for Tacoma before the roster move, and he should remain with the affiliate if he passes through waivers unclaimed.
