The Mets signed Jacques to a minor-league contract Wednesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports. The deal includes an invitation to major-league spring training. Jacques collected a 6.02 ERA and 61:23 K:BB over 52.1 innings at the Triple-A level in 2025. The left-handed reliever will compete for a bullpen job during spring training.
Jacques cleared waivers Friday and was sent outright to Triple-A Tacoma. Jacques was pushed off the 40-man roster Wednesday to make room for Jose Castillo, but the former will officially stick with the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 30-year-old southpaw has struggled mightily while spending the entire season in Triple-A, posting a 6.51 ERA and 1.72 WHIP across 47 innings between the Mariners' and Dodgers' affiliates.
The Mariners designated Jacques for assignment Wednesday. The transaction clears a spot on the 40-man roster for waiver claim Jose Castillo. Jacques was up with the Mariners briefly earlier this season but didn't make an appearance. He's posted a 6.51 ERA and 53:22 K:BB over 47 innings at the Triple-A level in 2025.
