Julio Rodríguez: Breaking News

Rodriguez went 3-for-6 with a two-run home run, a second run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 11-9 win over the Cardinals. The two teams combined for eight homers on the afternoon, and Rodriguez got the fireworks started by crushing a Matthew Liberatore slider into the second deck in left field at Busch Stadium in the first inning. Rodriguez had a sluggish start to the season, but he's quickly shaken it off and over the last 14 games he's batting .352 (19-for-54) with two homers, three steals, seven runs and eight RBI.

Rodriguez went 2-for-4 with an RBI, one walk and a stolen base in Sunday's 6-1 win over the Astros. After hitting his first home run of the season Saturday, Rodriguez recorded his second straight multi-hit game and third of the season Sunday. He also recorded his first stolen base of the campaign, swiping second in the eighth inning. It's been a tough start to the season for multiple Mariners, including Rodriguez, who is slashing .194/.286/.258 with the one homer, five RBI, six runs scored, one steal and a 7:19 BB:K across 70 plate appearances.

It's been a rough start to the campaign for Rodriguez, who entered Saturday batting a measly .148 with no extra-base hits or stolen bases and just two RBI through 14 games. The star outfielder finally got things going against Houston, collecting his first two extra-base hits -- a double in the first inning and a big two-run blast in the fifth that tied the score 7-7. Fantasy managers who roster Rodriguez likely made a big investment in him, so there's understandably been some frustration about how his season has started. However, he's been a slow starter throughout his career and has still managed to go 20-20 in each of his first four MLB seasons (with two of those being 30-30 campaigns), so it probably wouldn't be wise to sell low on him.
