Samuel Moll: Breaking News

Moll did not allow a hit and struck out two over 2.1 scoreless innings in Wednesday's 7-4 loss to Miami. He also hit two batters. Moll was needed for length as starter Brady Singer left after 2.2 innings, having given up six runs and 10 hits. Moll has not yet allowed a run or hit over six appearances (6.2 IP).

Moll could make the Reds' Opening Day roster as the Reds' second left-hander out of the bullpen, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports. Caleb Ferguson's oblique injury has created the extra roster space for another left-hander, with Moll following Brock Burke in the pecking order.

The Reds and Moll avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $875,000 contract, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports. He'll have a chance to earn an additional $150,000 in incentives. Moll split his time between the Reds and Triple-A Louisville in 2025, posting a 6.38 ERA and 22:10 K:BB over 18.1 frames with the big club. The lefty reliever does not have minor-league options remaining, so he would have to pass through waivers in order to be sent down.
