Seranthony Domínguez: Everything you need to know

Dominguez picked up the save Thursday against the Diamondbacks, throwing a clean ninth inning. He struck out two. The right-hander retired the side with relative ease Thursday, throwing eight of his 12 pitches for strikes. That's now three straight scoreless outings as well for Dominguez, who owns a 5.00 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 12:8 K:BB over his first nine innings while converting five of his seven save opportunities as Chicago's closer.

Dominguez picked up the save Sunday against Athletics. He allowed no hits, a walk and hit a batter while striking out one over a scoreless inning. Dominguez allowed some traffic but ultimately shut the door with the tying run at the plate, as Jacob Wilson popped out to center field to secure the win for the White Sox. It marked the hard-throwing right-hander's fourth save of the season, though his 5.63 ERA and 1.75 WHIP with a 10:8 K:BB across eight innings highlight that the 31-year-old has plenty of room to improve in 2026. In nine outings this season, he has held the opponent scoreless in seven of them while allowing multiple runs in the other two.

Dominguez (1-2) took the loss and a blown save Wednesday against the Rays, allowing three runs on two hits and one walk in one-third of an inning. He struck out one. The White Sox were nursing a 3-2 lead in the ninth inning, but Dominguez was unable to preserve the lead and blew his second save of the year. The right-hander had a hard time putting the Rays away, managing a lone out despite throwing 32 pitches. Chicago may not have much competition for save chances in its bullpen, but Dominguez is off to a rough start nonetheless while logging a 7.50 ERA, 1.83 WHIP and 8:5 K:BB through his first six frames.
