Troy Taylor: Everything you need to know

The Mariners optioned Taylor to Triple-A Tacoma on Friday. Taylor entered spring training competing for a depth spot in the Mariners' bullpen but will open the 2026 season in Triple-A. He spent most of the 2025 season in the minors but did appear in eight regular-season games for Seattle, though he posted a 12.15 ERA and 2.55 WHIP over 6.2 innings. Taylor should get a call up to the majors when the Mariners need an extra arm out of the bullpen.

The Mariners optioned Taylor to Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday. He's clearing out to make space on the roster for the return of George Kirby (shoulder), who was activated from the 15-day injured list in advance of his start Thursday in Houston. Taylor has failed this season to build upon his 2024 success, allowing nine runs with a 2:3 K:BB over 6.2 innings thus far.

The Mariners recalled Taylor from Triple-A Tacoma on Friday. Taylor has pitched well over his last seven outings between Tacoma and Seattle, allowing one run with a 9:1 K:BB over seven innings. He'll fill a middle relief role with the Mariners.
