Edman (ankle) will start his rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A Oklahoma City, Sonja Chen of MLB.com reports. Edman has been slowly progressing in his recovery from right ankle surgery that he underwent in the offseason. The 31-year-old is ready to take the next step by embarking on a rehab assignment and will spend at least the next three weeks with Oklahoma City, where he's expected to see the majority of his opportunities at second base, according to David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports. If all goes to plan, Edman could be back with the Dodgers by mid-June, per Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic.

Edman (ankle) is expected to begin a rehab assignment within the next few weeks, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports. Edman's recovery from right ankle surgery has come along slowly, as he's dealt with lingering soreness when he attempts to ramp things up. However, he seems to have turned a corner recently, with general manager Brandon Gomes noting Monday of Edman that "each week we're trending up and able to do more and get closer to his game speeds." The hope is Edman will be ready to go at some point in June, though there's still not a clear timetable for his activation.

The Dodgers transferred Edman (ankle) to the 60-day injured list Saturday. Edman's rehab was paused Monday after he felt renewed soreness in his surgically repaired right ankle. He remains without an official return timeline, but his move to the 60-day IL will ensure that he remains out until at least May 24. The transaction also frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for Charlie Barnes, who was claimed off waivers from the Cubs on Saturday.
