Trey Alexander: Breaking News

Alexander recorded 16 points (7-11 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-3 FT), one rebound, one assist, one block and three steals in 32 minutes during Sunday's 132-126 loss to the Timberwolves. Alexander popped for a season-high 16 points Sunday, showing what he's capable of when given significant minutes. The two-way player signed a one-year deal with the Pelicans last summer and mostly played for the G League's Birmingham Squadron this year, so his next steps for 2026-27 are uncertain at this time.

Alexander chipped in seven points (3-4 FG, 1-1 3Pt), two rebounds, three assists and one block in 21 minutes during Sunday's 133-121 loss to the Lakers. Alexander has spent the majority of his time this season with the Birmingham Squadron of the G League, but he was called up to the parent club due to the slew of injuries that the Pelicans are dealing with. In his season debut, he dropped seven points and drilled his only three-point attempt, showing his ability to produce, and he may be called upon again in the near future if Jordan Poole (quadriceps) and Jordan Hawkins (illness) remain out.

Alexander contributed 25 points (7-13 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 6-6 FT), four rebounds, three assists and two steals over 25 minutes in Wednesday's 95-81 Summer League loss to the Thunder. Alexander paced all scorers with 25 points off the bench, knocking down five shots from beyond the arc. He joined the Pelicans on a two-way deal this offseason after spending his rookie 2024-25 season in the Nuggets organization, where he logged 24 regular-season NBA appearances and averaged 1.3 points in 4.9 minutes per game.
