The Cowboys agreed to terms with Durant on a one-year contract Thursday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. Durant appeared in all 17 regular-season games for the Rams last season, making 15 starts, and finished with 40 tackles (30 solo) and seven pass breakups, including three interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown. Durant will compete for cornerback snaps alongside Shavon Revel (concussion), Caelen Carson and Trikweze Bridges opposite DaRon Bland (foot).

Durant logged 814 regular-season defensive snaps this year, 74 more than his previous career high of 740 snaps. The starting cornerback started all 17 regular-season games as well as all three playoff games the Rams participated in, ending his rookie contract with a remarkable show of durability and consistency. The 28-year-old will enter the 2026 season as an unrestricted free agent, with a return to the Rams likely dependent on contract negotiations and the level of faith that the team has in Emmanuel Forbes as a starting cornerback.

Durant recorded two solo tackles and two passes defensed, including a pick-six, in Sunday night's 34-7 win over Tampa Bay. Durant was able to secure an interception for the second straight week, but this time he took it back to the house, picking off Baker Mayfield and returning it for a 50-yard touchdown in the first quarter. The score was the cornerback's first since his rookie campaign in 2022. Durant has now registered 28 total tackles (22 solo) and seven passes defensed, including three interceptions, over 11 contests this year.
