The Islamic State has purportedly released an “official” statement regarding yesterday’s attack at the Holey Artisan Bakery cafe in Dhaka, Bangladesh. According to the BBC, “Six of the attackers were… killed and one was arrested, a government spokesman said.” According to Italy’s Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, ten Italians are unaccounted for.
The New York Times reports that, “Most of the victims were ‘ferociously’ attacked with sharp weapons, a military spokesman said. A kitchen worker who had escaped said the attackers were armed with pistols, swords and bombs.”
Prior to the statement’s release, ISIS terrorist channels also shared graphic images of the terrorist attack scene and photographs of the alleged perpetrators.
