Bryan Ramos: Everything you need to know

The Orioles assigned Ramos to Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports. After failing to make the Opening Day roster and with no minor-league options left, the Orioles opted to designate Ramos for assignment Tuesday. He cleared waivers Thursday and has opted to remain in the organization with Norfolk. Ramos spent most of the 2025 season in Triple-A, but he could see some major-league action in 2026 if Baltimore requires depth at third base.

The Orioles designated Ramos for assignment Tuesday, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports. Ramos slashed .316/.381/.474 with a homer, three RBI and four runs scored across 42 plate appearances in the Grapefruit League, but his attempt at making Baltimore's Opening Day roster was still unsuccessful. The 24-year-old doesn't have minor-league options remaining, so he'll also have to forfeit his place on the 40-man roster.

The Orioles claimed Ramos off waivers from the Cardinals on Friday, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports. Ramos has been bouncing around for the past month after he was DFA'd by the White Sox in January. Chicago then traded Ramos to Baltimore, but the Orioles then DFA'd the third baseman before the Cardinals claimed him and then designated Ramos for assignment earlier this week. Ramos will provide organizational corner infield depth for the Orioles.
