Diaz (elbow) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session this week, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports. Diaz was given the green light to resume throwing at the end of May, and it seems he's now been cleared to ramp up his throwing progression. He'll presumably need to make it through at least a few BP sessions before advancing to pitching against live hitters.

Edwin Díaz: Breaking News
Slated to start throwing
Diaz (elbow) is expected to start a throwing progression Tuesday or Wednesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Diaz underwent surgery in late April to remove loose bodies from his right elbow. He's progressed enough in his recovery to start a throwing program, but the expectation is that he will be sidelined until after the All-Star break in mid-July. Diaz's exact activation date from the IL will be more clear as he continues to move through his rehab program.
Moves to 60-day IL
The Dodgers transferred Diaz (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Sunday. The transaction is merely a procedural move that clears a spot on the 40-man roster and won't have any bearing on Diaz's timeline to return to action. Diaz underwent surgery April 22 to remove loose bodies from his elbow and isn't expected to be available until after the All-Star break. Diaz is expected to start playing catch later this month once the stitches are removed from his elbow, but a more precise target date for his activation from the IL won't become clear until he's further along in the rehab process.
