Jacob Waguespack: Everything you need to know

Waguespack was reassigned to minor-league camp Monday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. The Brewers signed Waguespack to a minor-league deal over the offseason and offered him an invitation to big-league camp, but he was unable to stand out enough to earn an Opening Day roster spot. He'll report to minor-league camp and projects to begin the 2026 season at Triple-A Nashville.

The Brewers signed Waguespack to a minor-league contract Thursday that includes an invitation to spring training, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Waguespack spent all of the 2025 regular season at the Triple-A level between the Rays and Phillies organizations, holding a 2.45 ERA and 31:11 K:BB over 33 innings covering 25 relief outings. The 32-year-old has rotation and bullpen experience and it's unclear what role the Brewers have planned for him.

The Rays released Waguespack (undisclosed) on Sunday. Waguespack had previously been removed from the Rays' 40-man roster and will now exit the organization altogether. The right-hander hasn't pitched since late May due to an undisclosed injury, and it's not clear how close he might be to getting back on the mound.
