Koenig (elbow) is slated to resume a throwing program Tuesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Koenig has been shelved for three-plus weeks with a sprained left elbow. Given the nature of the injury, the southpaw reliever will be brought along slowly. The Brewers do not expect Koenig to be ready to return until late May or early June.

Jared Koenig: Breaking News
Goes on IL with sprained elbow
The Brewers placed Koenig on the 15-day injured list Monday with a left elbow sprain. The left-hander has been diagnosed with UCL damage but will attempt to rehab the injury, per Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. He's expected to miss 2-to-4 weeks. Koenig has been a valuable piece out of the Milwaukee bullpen since 2024, posting a 2.62 ERA and 24.7 percent strikeout rate. His spot on the roster and in the bullpen will be filled by Shane Drohan, who was recalled from Triple-A Nashville.
Secures second save
Koenig allowed a hit and struck out one over a scoreless inning to earn the save in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Angels. Abner Uribe was deployed against the heart of the Angels' order in the eighth inning, leaving Koenig to pick up the save in the ninth. This was Koenig's seventh straight scoreless outing, and he's posted a 14:1 K:BB while earning two saves and a hold in that span. He's done a decent job when called upon this year, posting a 3.10 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 64:20 K:BB with two saves and 26 holds over 61 innings this season.
