Chandler (1-3) took the loss Wednesday against the Cardinals, allowing three runs on three hits and four walks in five innings. He struck out six. Although Chandler gave up only three hits and tied a season high in punchouts, each knock went for extra bases Wednesday. Control remained an issue as well for the hard-throwing right-hander, who issued multiple walks for the fifth time in six starts this season. Chandler has a disappointing 4.97 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 27:20 K:BB over 29 innings, and he'll be looking for better command in his next scheduled outing in Arizona.

Roy Chandler: Breaking News
Struggles in worst start of season
Chandler (1-2) took the loss against Texas on Thursday, allowing six runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out four batters over four innings. Chandler got through two scoreless frames before giving up two runs in the third inning and four in the fourth. The final blow against him was a Corey Seager three-run homer, which was the second long ball Chandler allowed in the game. The right-hander's four frames and six runs allowed were both season-worst marks, and the poor outing pushed his ERA up from 3.15 to 4.88 through five starts. Chandler will look to get back on track in his next appearance, which is slated to be a home matchup against St. Louis.
First win of 2026
Chandler (1-1) earned the win against the Rays on Friday, allowing one run on three hits and one walk while striking out three across six innings. Chandler punched out only three batters while generating eight whiffs, but he was incredibly efficient with his pitches, tossing 62 strikes on 90 pitches (68.9 percent). He retired 15 of the first 16 batters he faced, and he limited the damage in the sixth inning to one run after allowing three baserunners on. Not only was it Chandler's first win of the season, it was also his first quality start and the first time he completed six frames. He has yielded three earned runs or less in each of his first four outings of the season and has a 3.15 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 17:13 K:BB across 20 innings. Chandler is lined up to face the Rangers on the road next week.
