When you are out exploring the nightmarish space station in Prey you will want to gain every advantage you can against the various Typhon. One such tool is the Psychoscope, which allows you to scan alien enemies so you can not only learn their secrets, but gain new powerful abilities. To obtain this item you will need to make your way to the Psychotronics level of Talos I and head north.
Pass through the security checkpoint and head into the bathrooms on your right, where a Mimic and Phantom will attack. These are higher level enemies, you will want to make sure that you have shotgun ammo as there is little room to sneak around them. Once they are dead, hang a right and head into the next bathroom where you can find a Mimic stuck in the toilet. Jump down through the hole in the floor and grab the medkit.
As soon as you slide down the pipes three Mimics will run out and attack you, so either use the GLOO Gun to neutralize them or shoot them with one of your firearms. There isn’t a ton of room to maneuver here so try to have your back to a wall. Don’t forget to turn your flashlight on during the fight so you can track their movements easily. After you kill them all, go to the open door and take the Psychoscope (scanner) off the fresh corpse laying there.
This item can be used to scan the different types of Typhon to earn additional abilities that can power up Morgan. Make sure to scan every type of alien you come across, even if you are going for the no alien powers run. Understanding what these creatures are weak too will save you a ton of trouble down the road. Always having an edge against your opponents will be critical to your survival in Prey.
