Luis Arraez: Breaking News

Good to go Tuesday

Arraez (wrist) is starting at second base and batting second Tuesday against the Reds, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Arraez was held out of the lineup Sunday after leaving Saturday's contest with a wrist contusion, but he's ready to rejoin the lineup after Monday's team off day. The 29-year-old has a .304/.339/.393 slash line with a double, two triples, two steals, six RBI and six runs through 15 games this season.

Not starting due to bruised wrist

Arraez (wrist) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. With a team off day coming Monday, the Giants will give Arraez at least two days to recover from the right wrist contusion that forced him out of Saturday's 6-2 loss. Christian Koss will pick up a start at second base Sunday in Arraez's stead, but manager Tony Vitello said that he's targeting Tuesday's game in Cincinnati for Arraez's return to the lineup, per Slusser.

Diagnosed with wrist contusion

Arraez is dealing with a right wrist contusion, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Arraez was kicked in the right hand by Dylan Beavers while preparing to make a throw to first base in the fourth inning against Baltimore in Saturday. He initially stayed in the game after being looked at by a trainer and even singled in the following frame, but Christian Koss replaced him on defense at second base in the fifth frame. Arraez doesn't appear to be dealing with a serious injury, but it remains to be seen if he'll be in the lineup for the series finale Sunday.
