Brock Wright: Everything you need to know

The Lions placed Wright (neck) on injured reserve Thursday. Wright joins fellow TE Sam LaPorta (back) on IR, meaning the former will miss at least the next four games. With all of Wright, LaPorta and Shane Zylstra (knee), the latter of whom was designated for return from IR this week but ruled out for Week 14 action, sidelined, Detroit's group of available tight ends Thursday against the Cowboys includes Ross Dwelley, Anthony Firkser and Hayden Rucci.

Wright (neck) has been ruled out for Thursday's game versus the Cowboys. Wright now will miss a second consecutive contest due to a tracheal injury that may result in an extended absence, as coach Dan Campbell told Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press on Sunday. With Sam LaPorta (back) potentially out for the season, the Lions will lean on Ross Dwelley, Anthony Firkser and Hayden Rucci at TE in Week 14. Wright's next chance to suit up is Sunday, Dec. 14 at the Rams.

Detroit has listed Wright as a non-participant on both of its first two Week 14 practice reports, a development that comes as little surprise after head coach Dan Campbell said Sunday that the tight end was dealing with an injury to his trachea that could result in a long-term absence, per Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. For now, the Lions are evaluating Wright's status on a game-by-game basis, and at this point, he seems likely to miss Thursday's game against the Cowboys.
