The 23-year-old was cleared to participate in practice after missing the start of training camp and will likely be fighting for a roster spot with the start of the regular season just over a month away.

The Bengals placed McLaughlin (undisclosed) on the active/non-football injury list Saturday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. McLaughlin was signed by Cincinnati as an undrafted free agent in late April. He is eligible to be activated and begin practicing at any time, but he'll first need to pass a physical.
