Zerpa will undergo UCL reconstruction on his left elbow next week, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Zerpa went on the injured list last week, and after seeking multiple opinions, has made the decision to go under the knife. He will likely be sidelined until around midseason next year. Acquired from the Royals via trade over the offseason, Zerpa will finish the 2026 campaign with a 6.39 ERA and 8:6 K:BB over 12.2 innings. He'll be eligible for salary arbitration for a second time this winter.

Angel Zerpa: Breaking News
May need Tommy John surgery
Manager Pat Murphy said Sunday that Zerpa (forearm) is deciding whether or not to undergo Tommy John surgery, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. The left-hander landed on the injured list Wednesday due to forearm tightness, and he could end up being out for the season and beyond. Even if Zerpa doesn't end up needing Tommy John surgery, he seems likely to be sidelined for multiple months.
Out with forearm tightness
The Brewers placed Zerpa on the 15-day injured list Wednesday due to left forearm tightness, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. According to Jack Stern of BrewerFanatic.com, Zerpa's forearm injury was a factor in him being pulled in the middle of an inning during his most recent appearance against the Pirates on Saturday, when his velocity had noticeably dropped. Manager Pat Murphy told Rosiakl on Wednesday that Zerpa will undergo more testing and receive a second opinion on his injury, but the skipper is anticipating that the lefty reliever will be in line for a lengthy absence. Milwaukee called up southpaw Brian Fitzpatrick from Triple-A Nashville to take Zerpa's spot on the active roster and in the bullpen.
