Kyle Manzardo: Breaking News

Manzardo is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles. The left-handed-hitting Manzardo had been included in the lineup in each of the last five games while the Guardians faced right-handed starting pitchers, but he'll take a seat Sunday while the Orioles send southpaw Trevor Rogers to the bump. Rhys Hoskins will fill in for Manzardo at first base and will bat cleanup.

Manzardo is not in the lineup for Monday's contest in St. Louis. The Guardians are facing a lefty for the sixth time in their last eight games, and Manzardo has been out of the lineup for five of those tilts versus southpaws. Rhys Hoskins will play first base and David Fry will serve as the designated hitter against Matthew Liberatore.

Manzardo went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 11-5 loss to Atlanta. Manzardo popped his first home run of the season in the fourth inning. The Guardians expected to see Manzardo take a next step in 2026, but he's off to a slow start. He entered Friday batting .086 (3-for-35) with one RBI and a 34.1 strikeout percentage.
