The Phillies signed Stoudt to a minor-league contract Wednesday, Ari Alexander of WHDH 7News in Boston reports. Stoudt struggled at Triple-A Norfolk in the Orioles organization in 2025, posting a 6.93 ERA and 17:14 K:BB over 24.2 innings. It was the first season as a full-time reliever for the 28-year-old Stoudt, who made four appearances (two starts) for the Reds in 2023.
The Orioles outrighted Stoudt to Double-A Bowie on Wednesday after he cleared waivers, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports. Stoudt was moved off the 40-man roster last weekend, when the Orioles needed to clear spots for trade-deadline pickups Seranthony Dominguez and Cristian Pache. The 26-year-old right-hander was claimed off waivers from the Mariners on June 13 but hadn't seen any big-league action since joining the Orioles organization. Stoudt has produced a 4.63 ERA and 1.61 WHIP across his eight relief appearances with Bowie.
The Orioles designated Stoudt for assignment Friday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports. A 40-man roster move was required following Friday's trade with the Phillies which added Seranthony Dominguez and Cristian Pache to the roster. It's the third time since February that Stoudt has been designated for assignment, as he's bounced around from the Reds to the Mariners to the Orioles and now could be on the move again.
