Irving won't return to Monday's matchup against the Kings due to a sprained left knee, Tim MacMahon of ESPN.com reports. Irving was unable to walk off the court under his own power after sustaining the left knee injury on a drive to the basket. He finished the game with seven points (2-4 FG, 3-3 FT), one rebound and one assist before exiting to the locker room in the first quarter. The superstar will likely undergo further testing before Wednesday's game against the Bucks, and with Irving sidelined for the remainder of Monday's game at the very least, Jaden Hardy and Spencer Dinwiddie are candidates to see a bump in minutes.

Irving exited to the locker room after sustaining an apparent left knee injury during the first quarter of Monday's game against the Kings, Mike Curtis of The Dallas Morning News reports. Irving appeared to injure his left knee while driving to the basket, and he stayed down for an extended period with teammates and medical staff surrounding him. The superstar was unable to walk off the court under his own power, though he stayed in the game to shoot two from the charity stripe before the medical staff came back out and helped him to the locker room. Jaden Hardy and Spencer Dinwiddie are candidates for an uptick in playing time if Irving is unable to return.

Irving ended with 31 points (9-23 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 11-11 FT), five rebounds, three assists and one steal across 38 minutes during Saturday's 132-117 loss to Milwaukee. The veteran guard led all scorers on the night as he delivered at least 30 points for the fifth time in seven appearances since Anthony Davis (thigh) was shut down. Over that stretch, Irving has averaged 30.7 points, 6.3 boards, 3.9 assists, 3.4 threes, 1.6 steals and 1.0 blocks while operating mainly as a solo act in the Dallas offense.

Over his last nine games, the superstar guard has averaged a stellar 27.8 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.9 steals, 1.1 blocks and 3.0 three-pointers in 39.4 minutes. As long as the 32-year-old is able to handle such heavy workloads, Irving should continue experiencing a boost in usage and fantasy value as the focal point of Dallas' offense until Anthony Davis (adductor) comes off the shelf.

Irving posted 35 points (12-27 FG, 5-11 3Pt, 6-6 FT), seven rebounds, four assists, two blocks and three steals over 40 minutes during Tuesday's 107-99 loss to the Lakers. Irving rose to the occasion in Los Angeles as he faced his former teammate, but it wasn't enough to seal a win for the short-handed Mavericks. Irving was once on LeBron James' wish list, but Doncic's arrival and Austin Reaves' standout play makes an eventual reunion for the duo unlikely in the offseason. In the meantime, Irving's output will be essential as the team struggles to stay relevant in the playoff race.

Irving finished 111-103 win over the Pelicans with 35 points (11-22 FG, 5-12 3Pt, 8-8 FT), four assists, two rebounds and one block over 37 minutes. Irving was playing his best basketball prior to the All-Star break, and the superstar point guard didn't seem to miss a beat Friday as he led both teams in scoring while connecting on at least five three-pointers for the 11th time this season. Irving has scored at least 30 points in each of his last three games, and over that span he has shot 51.4 percent from the field and 48.3 percent from beyond the arc. Irving's efforts have helped the Mavericks win five of their last six games, and they'll look to continue that momentum into Sunday's game against Stephen Curry and the Warriors.

Ruled out Thursday
Irving (shoulder) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Heat, Christian Clark of The Athletic reports. After dropping 42 points in Wednesday's win against the Warriors, Irving won't play in the second game of a back-to-back Thursday against the Heat. Klay Thompson (foot) has also been ruled out for this game against Miami. However, Dante Exum has been cleared to play and could still have an increased workload with Spencer Dinwiddie, Jaden Hardy and Max Christie.
