A Metro-North passenger train derailed this morning, killing and injuring several passengers. NBC reports there are at least four dead and some 48 injured. According to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, the seven-car train traveling south from Poughkeepsie to Grand Central left the track at 7:22 a.m. near the Spuyten Duyvil station in the Bronx. More than 100 firefighters responded to the scene. The MTA refutes early reports that cars were hurled into the water, but photos show they came to rest precariously close.
