Latest Rams News
Tomon Fox : Joining Rams
The Rams signed Fox on Tuesday. Fox has spent the last four seasons in New York but is now headed to Los Angeles. The 28-year-old has totaled 45 tackles (27 solo), including 2.0 sacks, throughout his career and will look to earn a depth role on the Rams' 53-man roster for the upcoming campaign.
Alaric Jackson : Arrested early Tuesday
Jackson was arrested early Tuesday morning on suspicion of felony domestic violence, NFL.com reports. Per the report, Jackson was subsequently released from custody after posting $50,000 bond, with the left tackle's next court date scheduled for June 30. In a statement regarding the matter, the Rams said "we are aware of the incident regarding Alaric Jackson, and we take these matters very seriously. Due to this being an ongoing legal situation, we cannot comment further at this time." Jackson signed a three-year, $57 million contact with Los Angeles during the 2025 offseason.
Eddie Walls : Gets sent to IR
The Rams placed Walls (undisclosed) on their injured reserve list Thursday, Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports. Walls went down with an injury during OTAs and was carted off the practice field, and now he'll have to sit out the rest of the year unless he works out an injury settlement with the team. His departure may mean that fellow undrafted rookie Wesley Bailey gets more practice reps on the edge.
Chad Lindberg : Gets placed on IR
The Rams placed Lindberg (undisclosed) on their injured reserve list Thursday, Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports. The undrafted rookie out of North Carolina is now in line to miss the entire 2026 season unless he negotiates an injury settlement with the club. His absence could free up more opportunities at practice for former Tar Heel teammate Austin Blaske.
Myles Garrett : Restructures contract
Garrett is restructuring his contract with the Rams, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. It sounds like there won't be much difference from Garrett's perspective, as most of the changes are intended to help the Rams with cap flexibility. He's entering the second season of a five-year, $204 million extension, coming off a 2025 campaign in which he somehow broke the single-season record for sacks (23.0) while playing for a five-win team. Garrett's new team came a few plays shy of the Super Bowl last season and now boasts arguably the strongest roster in the league.
Myles Garrett : Being dealt to Rams
The Browns agreed to trade Garrett to the Rams on Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Garrett will bolster a win-now Rams team, while the rebuilding Browns get back Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick and a 2029 third-round pick. The reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year set the league record with 23.0 sacks in the 2025 regular season, and he should have even more opportunities to rush the passer on a Rams team that's expected to play with the lead much more often than the Browns have in recent years.
Jared Verse : Linked to pending blockbuster trade
Verse is expected to be dealt to the Browns as part of a trade the Rams are finalizing to acquire Myles Garrett, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Verse, who has begun his NFL career with back-to-back Pro Bowls, appears slated to head to Cleveland alongside a 2027 first-round pick and further draft compensation in exchange for Garrett, a two-time NFL Defensive Player of the year. The 25-year-old tallied 7.5 tackles across 17 regular-season games with the Rams in 2025 and will become the pillar of the Browns' pass rush in Garrett's stead, though Verse's immediate prospects in terms of productivity will figure to take a hit if he's no longer paired alongside Byron Young.
Matthew Stafford : Inks massive contract extension
Stafford and the Rams agreed on a one-year, $55 million contract extension Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Stafford was set to enter the 2026 campaign in the final year of his two-year, $84 million contract that he signed with Los Angeles ahead of the 2025 season, but he will now be under contract through 2027. The 38-year-old is coming off of an MVP campaign in which he compiled 4,707 passing yards and 46 touchdowns while completing 65 percent of his passes over 17 regular-season contests. His new deal is worth up to $60 million dollars, so Stafford could now earn up to $105 million over the next two seasons. The Rams drafted the quarterback's successor in Ty Simpson 13th overall in the 2026 NFL Draft, and Simpson may now get a chance to sit behind Stafford for multiple years.
