Jacob Hurtubise: Everything you need to know

The Brewers signed Hurtubise to a minor-league contract Tuesday. Hurtubise has managed just a .167/.291/.212 batting line over parts of two seasons during his brief time at the big-league level. He can play all three outfield spots and has displayed good plate discipline in the minors with a 14.6 percent walk rate and 17.4 percent strikeout rate. It's a profile the Brewers have been able to squeeze value out of, but he's likely ticketed for Triple-A Nashville to begin the 2026 season.

The Mariners outrighted Hurtubise to Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday. While no longer on the 40-man roster, Hurtubise will remain in the Mariners organization as outfield depth at Tacoma. Hurtubise has spent most of the 2025 season at the Triple-A level, where he's slashed an ugly .145/.325/.179 over 44 contests.

The Mariners claimed Hurtubise off waivers from the Reds on Tuesday. Hurtubise had been jettisoned from the Reds' 40-man roster, but he'll now get a spot on Seattle's 40-man. The 27-year-old will report to Triple-A Tacoma, where he'll provide experienced outfield depth.
