Trice (knee) has been ruled out for the remainder of the season, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Trice is now in line to miss all of Atlanta's 2025 campaign due to a knee injury originally sustained in the 2024 preseason. The 2024 third-round pick from Washington has still yet to make his NFL debut. While he remains sidelined for the remainder of the season, expect Jalon Walker, James Pearce and Leonard Floyd to handle the Falcons' top pass-rush duties.
The Falcons placed Trice (knee) on injured reserve Thursday, Tori McElhaney of the team's official site reports. Head coach Raheem Morris told reporters Thursday that Trice aggravated the same knee that kept him sidelined for the entire 2024 season. While there's hope that Trice can return after the Week 5 bye, Morris noted that a procedure on the knee might be needed, and that decision will be discussed over the coming days, per McElhaney.
Trice (knee) has been an active participant in training camp practices, Terrin Waack of the Falcons' official site reports. Trice missed the entire 2024 season after tearing his ACL in the preseason. He did not participate in OTAs or minicamp, but he has made strong strides in his recovery over the past year and has been present in every single training camp practice thus far. The 2024 third-rounder will likely serve in a depth role at outside linebacker but could earn more snaps with a strong preseason, starting with the Falcons' opener against the Lions on Aug. 8.
