Mekhi Blackmon: Breaking News

Bounces back after ACL tear

Blackmon finished the regular season with 64 tackles (50 solo), including 1.0 sacks, along with seven defensed passes (including two interceptions) over 17 games. Blackmon didn't play at all for the Vikings in 2024 while recovering from a torn ACL. He was acquired by the Colts in late August and stayed healthy throughout the campaign, appearing in all 17 of Indianapolis' contests and making 11 starts. Blackmon finished fifth on the Colts in total tackles and tied for third in defensed passes, establishing himself as a key part of the team's defense. He'll be in the final year of his rookie contract next season.

Quiet in win

Blackmon recorded three tackles (three solo) with one pass defensed in Sunday's 38-14 win over the Titans. Most of the Colts' defensive starters sat late in the game due to the blowout game script, and Blackmon was no exception. He logged his lowest tackle total since Week 1 as a result, though he should bounce back in Week 9 against the Steelers.

Productive in win

Blackmon logged six tackles (five solo) during the Colts' win over the Chargers on Sunday. Blackmon finished tied for third on the team in tackles while playing every defensive snap in Sunday's victory. The 26-year-old continues to have a strong season, as he's now racked up at least five tackles in six straight outings and is just six tackles shy of his career-high 41 (34 solo) set back in 2023.
