Erik Anderson is an award-winning sports journalist covering the NBA, NFL and trading card market for Heavy.com. He focuses on the stories that matter the most to fans.
Anderson brings more than a decade of experience across sports journalism, athletic administration, media strategy, and digital communications. Before joining Heavy, he served as Communications Manager at Philo, where he led corporate storytelling, press relations, and brand content strategy for the national streaming television service. He previously worked as Sports Information Director at Carroll College and as a sports journalist for Independent Record and The Oregonian/OregonLive, where he covered high school, college and professional sports throughout the Pacific Northwest and Mountain West.
His work has appeared in prestigious outlets including ESPN, USA Today, The New York Times, and the Associated Press.
Education
Anderson graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Montana. While there, he served as the senior editor (marketing development) of the Montana Journalism Review and the sports editor of the Montana Kaimin, the student-led newspaper. His work garnered multiple national awards and led to an internship with USA Today Sports, where he covered the NBA.
