Erik Anderson
is an award-winning sports journalist covering the NBA, NFL, MLB and trading card market for Heavy.com. His coverage focuses on breaking news, trade rumors, roster moves, player contracts, draft storylines and the stories driving national fan conversation.
Anderson brings more than a decade of experience across sports journalism, athletics communications, media strategy and digital communications. Before joining Heavy, he worked as a communications manager for a major streaming company, leading corporate storytelling, press relations and brand content strategy. He previously served as Sports Information Director at Carroll College and worked as a sports journalist for The Oregonian/OregonLive and the Independent Record, covering high school, college and professional sports throughout the Pacific Northwest and Mountain West.

Education
Anderson graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Montana. While there, he served as senior editor for marketing development of the Montana Journalism Review and sports editor of the Montana Kaimin, the university’s student-led newspaper. His work earned multiple national awards and led to an internship with USA Today Sports, where he covered the NBA.
