Leon is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds. After starting in Saturday's 5-2 win and going 0-for-2 with a strikeout, Leon will hit the bench for the series finale while he and Chadwick Tromp have settled into a pattern of alternating turns behind the plate. Both backstops are valued mainly for their defensive abilities and are unlikely to offer much fantasy utility while they continue to work in a timeshare.

Leon is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox. Though he'll be on the bench Wednesday, Leon has seen the bulk of the work behind the plate since Drake Baldwin (oblique) joined Sean Murphy (finger) on the injured list May 19. Over Atlanta's ensuing eight games, Leon has made five starts to Chadwick Tromp's three. Even if that trend persists, Leon -- a career .206 hitter in parts of 14 big-league seasons -- shouldn't be considered a viable fantasy option.

Atlanta signed Leon to a major-league contract Tuesday. The veteran backstop signed with Atlanta as a non-roster invitee in February but failed to make the Opening Day roster and was released in April to pursue an opportunity in the Mexican League. Leon is back on a big-league deal this time since Sean Murphy (finger) was placed on the injured list. Leon should serve as the backup to Drake Baldwin while Murphy is sidelined.
