Cairo Santos: Breaking News

Santos did not attempt a kick in the Bears' 19-16 loss to the Lions on Sunday. Santos provided a stable weekly fantasy floor across the season, scoring fewer than six points in only two games while finishing with a high of 13 points. However, his efficiency continued to trend down after failing to top 84.0 percent accuracy for the second straight year. He is signed with Chicago through 2027 but offers limited upside relative to other fantasy kickers.

Santos made his lone field-goal attempt and all five PATs in Sunday night's 42-38 loss to the 49ers. Chicago and San Francisco were trading punches all night on offense. Santos' lone field goal was good from 29 yards, and his five PATs tied a season-high mark from Week 9 against the Bengals. On the year, Santos has made 25 of 30 field-goal tries and all 39 of his extra points.

Santos made all three of his field-goal tries and his only extra-point attempt Saturday in a 22-16 overtime win against Green Bay. Weather conditions were far from ideal for kickers, as high winds provided a significant challenge. That made Santos' accuracy all the more impressive -- his field-goal makes were far from chip shots, coming from 46, 51 and 43 yards out. Santos has made 24 of 29 FG tries and 34 of 34 PATs though 13 games on the season (he missed two games earlier in the campaign due to a thigh injury).
