The Eagles re-signed Epps to a one-year contract Friday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. After the Eagles traded away safety Sydney Brown on Friday, the team signed both Epps and J.T. Gray to replenish the depth chart. Marcus Epps: Breaking News
Tallies 21 tackles with Philly
Epps recorded 21 tackles (18 solo) while playing 12 regular-season games during the 2025 campaign. Epps joined the Eagles after playing just three games for the Raiders in 2024. He played almost exclusively on special teams over the first eight weeks and then missed four games on IR with a shoulder injury, but the 30-year-old finished the season in a starting role after rookie Andrew Makuba went down with an ankle issue. Epps has played 15 regular-season games over the past two seasons, and he is set to become a free agent this offseason.
Clears concussion protocol
Epps (concussion) doesn't have an injury designation ahead of Sunday's wild-card round matchup with the 49ers. Epps logged consecutive full practices to end the week and has officially cleared the league's concussion protocol. The free safety has avoided an injury designation just in time to start in Sunday's playoff clash. The 29-year-old is set to reclaim his starting role from fellow safety Sydney Brown, who will likely see fewer defensive snaps in Sunday's contest.
