Dominguez (elbow) will start his rehab assignment with Single-A Tampa on Tuesday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.comh reports. Yankees manager Aaron Boone noted Saturday that Dominguez will be the DH for the first two weeks of the assignment. Dominguez has continued to progress in his recovery from Tommy John surgery from last September, and he can spend a maximum of 20 days on a rehab assignment before the Yankees will have to either activate him or option him to the upper minors.
Cole (elbow) threw 29 pitches in his bullpen session Saturday, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports. Cole noted that he had a "pretty good" bullpen session, with 13 of his 29 pitches being breaking balls and his velocity topping at 89 MPH. He is set to stay in Tampa Bay and throw another bullpen early in the coming week.
Torres is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Ray, Erik Boland of Newsday reports. Torres will not start for the first time since April 20 against Tampa Bay, though he did pinch hit in that contest. Torres is 5-for-30 with five walks and a solo home run in May, and he is coming off an 0-for-4 outing with one strikeout in Friday's win. Oswaldo Cabrera will shift to second base Saturday, while Jon Berti gets the start at third.
Stanton is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Rays, Erik Boland of Newsday reports. Stanton went 2-for-4 in the series opener Friday. Trent Grisham will start in center field Friday while Aaron Judge shifts to DH against Rays right-hander Zack Littell.
Berti went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in a 2-0 victory versus the Rays on Friday. Berti started at third base and batted out of the No. 9 hole, and he was one of four Yankees with multiple hits in the victory. It was his third start in six games since returning from the injured list May 4, as Oswaldo Cabrera continues to get ample playing time at the hot corner. Berti has hit well since coming off the IL, going 5-for-11 with two runs, an RBI and two stolen bases.
Rizzo went 2-for-4 with a home run and two total RBI in Friday's 2-0 win over Tampa Bay. Rizzo accounted for both runs in the contest, knocking an RBI single in the fourth inning and providing some insurance with a solo homer in the ninth. The veteran first baseman has reached base safely in all but one of his eight games so far in May, slashing .296/.406/.519 with two homers and seven RBI over that stretch. With seven long balls and 22 RBI through 39 games on the campaign, Rizzo is already more than halfway to the totals he posted over 99 contests last season.
Holmes earned the save in Friday's 2-0 win over the Rays, working around a hit and two walks while striking out three in a scoreless ninth inning. The Rays loaded the bases against Holmes in the ninth before the right-hander struck out Jonny DeLuca for the final out. Holmes has yet to allow an earned run this year, pitching to a 1.04 WHIP with 21:3 K:BB over 17.1 innings. He's up to 12 saves, tied with Kyle Finnegan and Robert Suarez for the league lead.
