Achane is not attending the beginning of Miami's voluntary workouts Tuesday, C. Isaiah Smalls of the Miami Herald reports. Achane is absent from voluntary workouts due to his pursuit of a contract extension. The star running back is currently entering the final year of his rookie deal, and new head coach Jeff Hafley said "I'm not going to dive into those talks right now" when asked on Tuesday about the status of a potential long-term deal for Achane. Earlier this offseason, new GM Jon-Eric Sullivan referred to Achane as "a building block" on offense and stated that the team will make "zero effort" to trade the versatile RB, despite the fact that WR Jaylen Waddle was spoken about in similar terms and then dealt to Denver for a package including a 2026 first-round pick. Meanwhile, new QB Malik Willis is present for the start of voluntary workouts and building familiarity with Miami's scheme.
The Dolphins are signing Harrison to a one-year deal, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Harrison logged 29 tackles and 2.0 sacks in 10 regular-season games with the Falcons in 2025. The 2018 third-rounder started his pro career as a safety then transitioned to linebacker, a position Miami needed to bolster ahead of the coming campaign. He'll provide his new team with depth at the position as well as special-teams ability.
Pinion agreed to a deal with the Dolphins on Thursday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. The punter and kickoff specialist has been serving in both roles consistently for the past 11 seasons with the 49ers, Buccaneers and Falcons. Pinion led the NFL with 36 punts inside the 20 in 2025. He should be in line to play a similar role for Miami.
Miami has informed teams that have inquired about potentially trading for Achane that the running back is not available, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN reports. Achane's availability has reportedly been a source of intrigue around the league after the Dolphins traded Jaylen Waddle to the Broncos on Tuesday in exchange for a package including Denver's first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, but it appears Miami views the 24-year-old running back as an offensive centerpiece to build around for new quarterback Malik Willis. New general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan called Achane "a marvelous player" at the NFL Scouting Combine in February and said the team will consider extending him this offseason, as he enters the final year of his rookie deal. He compiled a career-high 1,838 yards from scrimmage across 16 regular-season appearances in 2025, including 12 total touchdowns, while handling 305 touches (ninth in the league) despite an undersized frame. Achane has proven himself to be one of the most versatile and efficient running backs in the NFL, so despite the Dolphins' current stance, it won't be surprising if teams around the league continue to call about his potential availability.

Heck, who previously spent time with the Texans and Buccaneers, projects to operate as a depth swing tackle for the Dolphins behind Patrick Paul and Austin Jackson (back). His presence will help keep thing stable up front for new quarterback Malik Willis.
The Dolphins signed Vernon on Friday. Vernon has yet to see NFL regular-season action but will have an opportunity to do so in 2026 with the Dolphins. He appeared in nine games for the Michigan Panthers of the UFL in 2025, when he averaged 45.4 yards per punt and logged eight punts inside the opponent's 20-yard line.
Ojabo is slated to sign with the Dolphins, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. The 2022 second-rounder spent the first four years of his NFL career with the Ravens but will take his talents to South Beach and the Dolphins for the 2026 campaign. He served in a rotational role in the Ravens' defense in 2025 while also contributing on special teams, finishing with 16 tackles (seven solo), including 0.5 sacks, over 14 regular-season games. Ojabo will likely fill that same role for Miami but could push for more rotational snaps on defense.
