Jonathan Bowlan: Breaking News

Bowlan allowed one hit and no walks in two scoreless innings of relief Sunday against the White Sox. He struck out three. With the Phillies nursing a 9-5 lead Sunday, Bowlan recorded the game's final six outs on just 19 pitches. The 29-year-old right-hander has seen very little high-leverage work in 2026, posting a 3.98 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 21:4 K:BB with one hold and no saves across 20.1 innings.

The Phillies reinstated Bowlan (groin) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday. The right-hander has been on the shelf the past couple weeks due to a groin strain, but he's ready to rejoin the Phillies after making one scoreless rehab appearance with Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Bowlan pitched in seven games prior to the injury and posted a 3.86 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 8:1 K:BB over seven innings.

Bowlan (groin) is set to begin a minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Saturday. Bowlan landed on the 15-day IL on April 13 due to a right groin strain. He's been throwing bullpen sessions and will now take another step in his rehab by seeing game action. Bowlan is eligible to return from the injured list Tuesday, and it's feasible that he'll be ready to return to Philadelphia's bullpen at that time.
