Garcia went 2-for-6 with two home runs and six RBI in Friday's 14-1 win over the Diamondbacks. Garcia led the offense Friday, starting the scoring with a two-run homer in the first inning. He added a grand slam in the sixth for his second multi-homer game of the year. Considering he has just seven long balls this season, Friday's effort was unexpected. The infielder is batting .263 with a .745 OPS, 37 RBI, 23 runs scored, 10 doubles, three triples and two stolen bases over 58 contests. Garcia has done pretty well of late, going 12-for-40 (.300) with four homers and 15 RBI over his last 11 games.

Luis García: Breaking News
Homers Sunday
Garcia went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Padres. Garcia broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning with a 402-foot blast off Griffin Canning, his fifth homer of the year. Garcia's been swinging the bat well of late, going 9-for-25 with a pair of homers and a 1.000 OPS over his last seven games. Overall, he's slashing .268/.290/.430 with 30 RBI, 21 runs scored and a pair of stolen bases across 186 plate appearances this season.
Idle against southpaw
Garcia is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Guardians. The left-handed-hitting Garcia will take a seat for the second time in three days while the Nationals face off against another left-handed starter (Joey Cantillo). Andres Chaparro will step in for Garcia at first base and will bat third.
