Kenrich Williams: Breaking News

Williams logged 15 points (7-22 FG, 1-6 3Pt), 12 rebounds, one assist and two steals in 32 minutes during Friday's 127-107 loss to the Nuggets. The Thunder were down nearly all of their starters, so Williams logged over 30 minutes for the first time since the 116-106 loss to San Antonio on Feb 4. With Oklahoma City looking to stay healthy, Williams may see more minutes until the end of the regular season, although he will likely return to a limited role during the playoffs.

Williams closed Saturday's 104-97 victory over Golden State with 13 points (5-9 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), seven rebounds and one assist in 19 minutes. Williams logged a handful of extra minutes, scoring in double figures for just the second time in his past nine games. As Oklahoma City continues to manipulate its rotation, Williams should be able to maintain a backend role. With that said, fantasy managers should view him as nothing more than a schedule-based streaming option.

Williams (coach's decision) went unused off the bench Friday in the Thunder's 127-121 overtime win over the Nuggets. The Thunder welcomed Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (abdomen) back from a nine-game absence Friday, and his return along with the game being tightly contested throughout left no room in the rotation for Williams. The veteran forward had previously appeared in each of Oklahoma City's previous 33 contests, averaging 7.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.0 three-pointers in 16.3 minutes over that stretch. While Williams should be first in line to rejoin the rotation if Oklahoma City is down a key player at any point moving forward, his path to steady playing time will only become more blocked once the likes of Ajay Mitchell (ankle/abdomen) and Jalen Williams (hamstring) return to the mix.
