LaJohntay Wester: Everything you need to know

Wester finished the season with 246 kick return yards and 198 punt return yards. He did not draw a target on 58 offensive snaps. The rookie was used almost exclusively on special teams. He never played more than nine snaps on offense in any game. Wester established himself as an effective punt returner and finished in the top 20 in punt return yards with 198. While his fantasy output was disappointing, it's too early to give up on Wester being a factor in that regard. Baltimore had a veteran-laden group of pass-catchers in 2025, but it's far from a guarantee that the depth chart will look the same next season. DeAndre Hopkins and Tylan Wallace are expected to hit free agency, and the offense itself will look different under a new coaching staff. Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman are established starters, and Devontez Walker has shown some flashes. That said, Wester has a chance to climb the depth chart depending on how Baltimore approaches the offseason.

Wester gained 16 yards on a punt return and went without a target while playing four of the Ravens' 43 snaps on offense in Sunday's 44-10 loss to the Texans. A rookie sixth-round pick out of Colorado, Wester has logged just nine snaps at receiver through the Ravens' first five contests. He'll likely continue to handle a light role on offense while providing most of his value to the Ravens as the team's top option on punt returns.

Wester caught both of his targets for 28 yards in Saturday's preseason win over Washington, adding one carry for five yards and a punt return for three yards. There was already talk that the rookie sixth-round pick locked up a roster spot when he returned a punt 87 yards for a touchdown in the preseason opener. A strong showing on offense in the final preseason game isn't likely to help Wester earn Week 1 wideout snaps, but he's at last headed for a roster spot and a role on special teams.
