Marcellas Dial: Breaking News

The Patriots placed Dial (knee) on injured reserve Tuesday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. Dial suffered a torn ACL in Monday's practice and will miss the 2025 season. He was a sixth-round pick in the 2024 Draft and appeared in all 17 regular-season games as a rookie, registering 12 tackles (six solo) and one forced fumble.

Dial sustained a ruptured ACL during Monday's training camp practice, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. It's the worst case scenario for Dial, who will now miss the entire 2025 season as he recovers. As he works toward a return in 2026, his absence could create additional opportunities for rookie seventh-rounder Kobee Minor.
