Qadir Ismail: Everything you need to know

The Bears signed Ismail to a reserve/future contract Wednesday. Ismail signed with the Bears' practice squad in late November before being placed on the practice-squad injured list with an undisclosed issue in late December. The tight end was not elevated for any games this season. The 25-year-old is currently listed behind Colston Loveland (concussion), Cole Kmet, Durham Smythe, Stephen Carlson and Nikola Kalinic on the depth chart. Ismail will have a chance to fight for a roster spot over any of those names and likely more when the 2026 season commences.

The Bears placed Ismail (undisclosed) on the practice-squad injured list Wednesday, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports. Ismail signed with Chicago as a member of the practice squad Nov. 24. The Samford product is now dealing with an undisclosed issue that will sideline him at least four weeks. The Bears signed tight end Thomas Gordon to their practice squad Tuesday to take Ismail's spot.

Ismail signed with the Bears' practice squad Monday, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports. Ismail has spent time with the Raiders, Giants and Jaguars since the beginning of the offseason and has yet to appear in a regular-season NFL game. He'll provide organizational depth at tight end for the Bears.
