Latest Ravens News
Odafe Oweh : Records 2.5 sacks in loss
Oweh recorded five tackles (four solo), including 2.5 sacks, and one forced fumble in Baltimore's loss to Las Vegas on Sunday. The 25-year-old played 67 percent of the defensive snaps in the loss to the Raiders, and he made the most of them with a career-best afternoon. On the very first play from scrimmage versus the Raiders, Oweh sacked Gardner Minshew and forced a fumble, though it was recovered by LT Kolton Miller.
Marlon Humphrey : Big day in loss to Las Vegas
Humphrey recorded 10 tackles (eight solo) and one interception in Sunday's loss to Las Vegas. Humphrey's 10 tackles versus the Raiders marked a new career-high for the eighth-year pro. With the Ravens up 6-3 late in the second quarter, Humphrey picked off Gardner Minshew to set up an eventual Justin Tucker field goal attempt, one he would miss from 56 yards. Through two contests, Humphrey has 12 tackles (nine solo), one interception and one pass breakup.
Roquan Smith : Records 11 tackles in defeat
Smith recorded 11 tackles (four solo) in the Ravens' loss to the Raiders on Sunday. He added one pass breakup to his stat line. Smith has played 100 percent of Baltimore's defensive snaps through two weeks and has registered 18 tackles (eight solo), two pass breakups and one interception. The four-time first-team All-Pro is coming off of a 2023 campaign that saw him pile up 158 tackles (84 solo). He has at least one interception in all seven pro seasons.
Justin Tucker : Another miss from beyond 50
Tucker went 3-for-4 on field goals Sunday against the Raiders and converted both of his extra-point attempts. Tucker's lone blemish Sunday, a miss from 56 yards, was the latest in a frustrating trend for the veteran. Dating back to last season, Tucker is 1-for-7 on field goals of 50 or more yards. He is still automatic from inside of 50 yards, but there is mounting evidence that Tucker's long-range accuracy is slipping at age 34. The Ravens get another home game in Week 3 against the Cowboys.
Nelson Agholor : Targeted three times Sunday
Agholor had a 13-yard reception on three targets in Sunday's loss to the Raiders. The veteran saw his snap share jump from 35 percent to 54 percent in Sunday's game. However, Agholor's actual involvement in the passing game was minimal as he drew three targets on 35 snaps. Agholor will be on the field when the Ravens deploy three-wide sets, but he is far down the pecking order in terms of targets.
Rashod Bateman : Makes three grabs Sunday
Bateman had three catches for 40 yards on four targets Sunday against the Raiders. There are positive indicators for Bateman's performance through two games. He has played over 80 percent of the snaps in each game and has drawn at least four targets in each outing. Bateman is up to seven catches for 93 yards on the year, good for a 10.3 YPT mark. Baltimore has the sixth-most pass attempts in the league through two weeks and with Bateman's snap share, he could start to capitalize on his opportunities soon. The Ravens host the Cowboys in Week 3.
Nate Wiggins : Could practice this week
Head coach John Harbaugh told reporters Monday that he's hopeful Wiggins (neck) can return to practice this week, Jonas Shaffer of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports. Wiggins missed the Ravens' Week 2 loss after sustaining a neck injury in a car accident earlier that week, but it now appears he could be nearing a return to the field. However, if the 2024 first-round pick needs more recovery time, expect Eddie Jackson so see increased snaps with Baltimore's first-team defense, as he did last week.
Justice Hill : Seeing plenty of playing time
Hill had four carries for 22 yards and caught both of his targets for 10 yards in Sunday's loss to the Raiders. Once again, Hill out-snapped Derrick Henry by a count of 35 to 30 in a loss. Hill wasn't as involved in the passing game this time around, though, as his target count dropped from eight to two. Baltimore is still finding its identity on offense with a rebuilt offensive line and the addition of Henry to the mix, but Hill seems to be in line for a healthy snap share for the time being thanks to his complimentary skill set to that of Henry's. The Ravens host the Cowboys in a Week 3 game that is teetering on being a must-win for Baltimore.
