Ryan McMahon: Breaking News

McMahon is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox. McMahon is on the bench for the fifth time in six games while the Yankees navigate a stretch that's been heavy on matchups with left-handed starting pitchers. Amed Rosario will get the nod at third base in McMahon's stead Wednesday while southpaw Ranger Suarez takes the hill for Boston.

McMahon is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Royals. Even with right-hander Michael Wacha on the mound for the Royals, McMahon will sit in favor of Amed Rosario at third base. McMahon is batting .111 with a sky-high 32.6 percent strikeout rate in 43 trips to the plate against right-handed pitching this season. McMahon is also hitting 59.1 percent of his batted balls on the ground versus righties.

McMahon is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Angels. He'll head to the bench along with fellow left-handed hitters Ben Rice and Trent Grisham while the Yankees stock up some extra right-handed bats to counter Angels southpaw Yusei Kikuchi. Amed Rosario will step in at third base in place of McMahon, who owns a .376 OPS over 42 plate appearances on the season.
