Charles Robinson: Everything you need to know

The Dodgers reassigned Robinson to minor-league camp Monday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Robinson logged two plate appearances in the majors with the Dodgers last season, but after re-signing with the organization on a minor-league deal over the winter, he never seemed like a realistic candidate to crack the Opening Day roster. The journeyman backstop is expected to begin the season at Triple-A Oklahoma City and will likely need either Will Smith or Dalton Rushing to succumb to an injury before he gets another big-league call-up.

The Dodgers signed Robinson to a minor-league contract Dec. 18. Robinson spent most of 2025 at the Triple-A level but did appear in one game with the Dodgers before being removed from their 40-man roster. The 31-year-old will give the organization some experienced catching depth at Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Atlanta outrighted Robinson to Triple-A Gwinnett on Thursday. He'll have the opportunity to elect free agency if he wants. Robinson holds a career .131/.169/.192 slash line over 138 plate appearances in parts of three seasons in the majors.
