William Warren: Everything you need to know

Warren allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits and two walks while striking out five batters over 4.1 innings in a no-decision against Cleveland on Monday. Warren came into Monday having tossed back-to-back six-inning quality starts, but he wasn't able to get out of the fifth frame against the Guardians. Most of the damage against the right-hander came in the third, when Cleveland put up three runs on three hits, a walk, a wild pitch and an error. Though Warren didn't give up any more runs thereafter, he ran his pitch count up throughout the contest and was at 91 pitches when he departed. While this was far from his best outing, Warren did manage to give up fewer than three earned runs for the 11th time across his 13 starts. That has him at a healthy 3.28 ERA along with a 1.19 WHIP and 75:21 K:BB over 68.2 innings on the season.

Warren (7-1) earned the win Sunday, allowing three runs (none earned) on six hits and three walks over six innings in a 13-8 victory over the Athletics. He struck out five. Facilitated by a Trent Grisham error, Warren was charged with three unearned runs in the first inning but settled in nicely afterward, firing five scoreless frames. Sunday marked the right-hander's second consecutive quality start and fifth of the season. Warren will carry a 3.22 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 70:19 K:BB across 64.1 innings (12 outings) into his next start, which is tentatively scheduled for Saturday against the Red Sox.

Warren did not factor into the decision Monday against the Royals, allowing two runs on three hits and three walks while striking out three over six innings. Warren battled some command trouble early, walking three batters in the second inning to load the bases before a sacrifice fly brought home Kansas City's first run. The right-hander settled in nicely afterward, retiring 11 of the next 13 hitters he faced before Salvador Perez tied the game with a solo homer in the sixth inning. Warren continues to consistently limit damage, now holding opponents to two or fewer runs in nine of his 11 starts this season. He owns a 3.55 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 65:16 K:BB across 58.1 innings and is lined up for a matchup against the Athletics on Sunday, his second start of the week.
