Pinango will start in right field and bat cleanup in Sunday's game against the Yankees. With Daulton Varsho (wrist) recently joining Addison Barger (elbow) on the injured list, Pinango looks like he'll have a clearer path to regular playing time out of the Toronto outfield in the short term. He'll be making his sixth start in seven games Sunday after going 6-for-18 with a home run, two doubles, three walks and two RBI over the previous six contests.

Yohendrick Piñango: Breaking News
Sparks five-run sixth inning
Pinango went 2-for-4 with a solo home run during the Blue Jays' 6-4 win over the Orioles on Sunday. Shane Baz kept the Blue Jays off the board through the first five innings, but Pinango turned things around for his team with a solo home run in the sixth, the first of five runs in the frame. It was the fourth home run of the season for Pinango, who is slashing .301/.333/.456 with 17 RBI and eight extra-base hits over 108 plate appearances this season. While he's been productive at the plate, Pinango has not been as good in the outfield, which has limited his playing time. He could be facing even less reps in the outfield once Addison Barger (elbow) returns from the injured list.
Homers off the bench
Pinango went 2-for-2 with a three-run homer in Sunday's 9-5 loss to the Orioles. Pinango, who started the day on the bench for a third straight game, entered in the sixth inning after Jesus Sanchez (wrist) left with an injury. The rookie would ultimately provide Toronto with one of their few bright spots, as he singled in the seventh before blasting a 421-foot, three-run homer off Tyler Wells in the eighth. Pinango is now slashing a solid .294/.333/.447 with three homers and 16 RBI through his first 90 big-league plate appearances. While Sanchez's injury doesn't seem serious, it could afford Pinango some additional playing time in the short term.
